Terms of Service

By using Perfping at perfping.com, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use the service.

1. The Service

Perfping provides free, public network diagnostic tools including ping, traceroute, TCP port checks, HTTP availability checks, MTR, and DNS/security lookups. The service is provided "as-is" with no uptime guarantees.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use Perfping for legitimate network diagnostics and security testing of systems you own or have explicit permission to test.

You must not use Perfping to:

• Conduct unauthorized security scanning, penetration testing, or reconnaissance against systems you do not own
• Perform denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
• Flood our nodes with automated requests beyond normal diagnostic use (rate limits apply)
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically copy check results for redistribution
• Attempt to access private or restricted systems without authorization
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law

3. Rate Limits

To ensure fair access for all users, we apply rate limits per IP address. Automated use and API access should stay within reasonable limits (suggested: no more than 60 checks per minute per IP). Excessive use may result in temporary blocks.

4. Check Results and Data

Check results are public by default and accessible to anyone with the check ID URL. Do not include sensitive information (passwords, private IP ranges, internal hostnames) in targets you submit to public checks. Results are retained for 30 days then automatically deleted.

5. Availability and Accuracy

We strive to keep Perfping operational 24/7 but make no guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or completeness of results. Network diagnostic results reflect conditions at the time of the check from our specific node locations and may not represent global network conditions.

6. Intellectual Property

The Perfping platform, code, design, and content are our intellectual property. You may link to and reference our tools freely. You may not clone or resell the service without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

Perfping is provided free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and liability for damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to decisions made based on diagnostic results.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to block access to any IP address or user that violates these terms, without notice.

9. Changes

We may revise these terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
